The neon has a similar looking bumper, and the avenger has similar headights, etc. But there's no way you can mistake either of them for a Viper. The ZO6, ZR1, or whatever other model they come up with will always be a Corvette. Other than delivering good performance for the price, there's nothing so special about them. Just like regular C6s were converted to ZO6s (exterior) when the ZO6 first showed up, the same will happen with the ZR1. FYI, several people thought that the Viper was a ZO6 when they first saw it parked in the garage. Why? Look at both front ends... The headlight design, the bulging fenders and hood, the hood vent (which is in a lower position on the ZO6), and even the mirrors. Since when did corvettes look like that. For the longest time they had a very bland look, with no headlights, edges, corners, bulges, or anything to define its body lines. Someone posted a picture of a ZO6 with a Viper bumper (photoshop) a while back and you'd be surprised how similar both cars looked.
The looks and the steering wheel have nothing to do with why I don't like the ZO6. There's much more to it than that. I can't comment on the ZR1 because I haven't driven one, so everything I said applies to the ZO6. Btw, the guy who owned this Viper had a C6 ZO6 before getting the Viper.
